Stubby Squid

Mikalyn Trinca Colonel, 2021

Not quite an octopus, not quite a cuttlefish, the stubby squid is one of the cutest looking cephalopods out there. Native to the northern Pacific Ocean Stubby Squid (aka Rossia Pacifica) are some of the smallest squids in the Pacific growing up to max of 11 cm. These fellas are nocturnal hunters but can be found buried under the sand with just their eyes poking out during the day. Remember if you ever see one in the wild while diving look don't touch!
